Station 41 on Murphy Dome Road was CGFR’s first fire station. It was built in 1978 with volunteer labor on land donated by Ivan Vail. Mr. Vail was one of the founding members of the department and was an assistant chief when he retired after many years of service. The station has since been named in Mr. Vail’s honor.
Station 41 has shared living quarters for two personnel. They are responsible for basic upkeep and maintenance of the station and equipment. They serve as first responders to emergency calls in the area when they are at the station. This station houses an Engine and our 2500 gallon water tender.
